As much as our community is a love letter to today’s Berkeley students, it’s also an homage to the dozens of Nobel Laureates among Berkeley’s faculty and alumni. That’s why you’ll find “Love” etched in neon lights outside our building in the handwriting of Berkeley Laureates. This art installation was made possible by Joel Swanson and all the Laureates who help set Berkeley apart.
Words are power(ful); my artwork illuminates the subtle but potent ways that language influences the way we perceive the world. I want my artwork to make people perceive language and its influence from new and unorthodox perspectives.
